The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Louisville) and the Public Relations Society of America (Bluegrass PRSA) are proud to present the 2017 Landmarks of Excellence, honoring the outstanding achievements of the public relations discipline. This year’s event will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, honoring individuals who have exhibited outstanding communication abilities in the community and workplace through the Communicator of the Year award, induction into the Communicator Hall of Fame, and recognition of the next generation of Rising Stars.

The Communicator of the Year award recognizes a Louisville Metro area individual whose communications skills have had a positive influence on the community and/or significantly raised awareness of an issue. The Hall of Fame honors communications professionals who have made a lasting difference in the fields of public relations and communications. The Rising Star award recognizes emerging leaders – age 32 or younger — whose work reflects ongoing and exceptional growth in contributing to the fields of public relations or communications.

Please nominate worthy recipients by 5 p.m. on August 19.

Nomination forms are available at www.blugrassprsa.org and www.louisville.iabc.org. Please submit nominations to IABC Louisville President CJ Parrish via email (cjparrish2u@gmail.com) or mail (c/o Stoll Keenon Ogden, 2000 PNC Plaza, 500 W. Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY 40202).

General overview:

Each year in mid-October, the Louisville chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC/Louisville), in conjunction with the Public Relations Society of America’s Bluegrass Chapter (Bluegrass PRSA), hosts the Landmarks of Excellence Awards to recognize outstanding achievement in the public relations arena. The Landmarks of Excellence ceremony has become one of the region’s best showcases of communications talent.

While the awards program focuses on recognizing participants for excellence in the planning, creativity and execution of projects from the past year, a member is annually inducted into the Communicators Hall of Fame, and special honors are also bestowed upon a non-public-relations-practicing Communicator of the Year.
