Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor opened the doors to his first restaurant in 1993 with a people-first philosophy. His focus on employee happiness was a departure from the conventional management wisdom at a time when competitors were focused solely on taking care of the guest.
Our July speaker Travis Doster, the Senior Director of Public Relations and Communications at Texas Roadhouse, will discuss how the company has made Taylor’s vision a reality.
About the Speaker:
In addition to overseeing Texas Roadhouse’s internal and external communications, Travis is a member of the crisis management team and is actively involved in government relations for the $1.8 billion restaurant company.
He also serves on the board of the company’s charitable foundation as well as the Kentucky Retail Federation. Travis earned a degree in Public Relations from the University of Arkansas.
Prior to joining Texas Roadhouse in 2006, he was the Vice President, Public Relations for FSA Public Relations. At FSA, he managed a staff of 35 and provided a multitude of services, including public relations, marketing, crisis management and issues management for 12 national clients, including Texas Roadhouse, Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich Shops, Qdoba Mexican Grill, and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Travis and his wife Elizabeth, have been married 15 years and have boys.
Networking begins at 11:30, with lunch at approximately noon. We look forward to seeing you Thursday, July 21!
